Riverside brunch wedding with a cool color palette and intimate setting at Harbor Stay in Eau Gallie, Florida
For Catherine and Jake, it was all in the details. They tied the knot with a romantic summer wedding ceremony in Florida, surrounded by river views and an intimate guest list. To top it all off, they incorporated vibrant blooms, a fairytale first look moment and a decadent brunch reception.
“This stunning riverside brunch wedding was nothing short of perfection!” said the wedding photographer.
Catherine wore not one, but two dresses with a total of three different bridal looks. The first was a flowy ivory gown with a wispy tulle skirt and embroidered lace bodice with a dramatic plunging neckline. She tied the look together with warm, natural makeup and a tulle bridal bow in her sleek ponytail.
Jake, in his beachy ensemble including khaki shorts and a relaxed white button-down, was waiting on the beach for their sunrise first look. As he awaited this much-anticipated moment, the watercolor sky behind them reflected pink and gold tones on the serene blue sea.
Shortly after, the lush green wedding venue provided the idyllic setting for their outdoor ceremony. For the ceremony decor, they kept the design simple with two floral pillars at the altar, blossoming with tropical leaves, baby blue and cream hydrangeas, and a multitude of summery florals.
“The vision was to give the floral design a very local feel,” said the photographer.
As guests arrived at the brunch wedding ceremony, they were greeted with a mimosa and coffee bar, complete with a side of glazed donuts. The display was accompanied by fluffy biscuits, fresh jams and assorted fruits.
“If donuts didn't tickle your fancy, then guests could choose from a fabulous spread,” said the photographer.
To walk down the aisle, Catherine changed into a whimsical, strapless ball gown with a gorgeous lace bodice. She wore a cathedral-length pearl-studded veil and carried a tropical bridal bouquet arranged with vibrant monstera leaves, fern leaves and an array of ivory florals including spray roses and peonies.
Jake eagerly awaited his bride at the altar, sporting a navy suit with a relaxed tropical-inspired button down. The couple was united before their closest friends and families, with endless heartfelt moments and few dry eyes.
After the ceremony, Catherine added beautiful custom swiss dot sleeves and removed her veil for intimate portraits with her husband in the perfectly manicured lawn.
“One thing is for sure,” said the wedding photographer, “Catherine was stunning in all three looks.”
Meanwhile, guests made their way to the reception brunch where they sipped on signature cocktails, including an adult slushie. They found their seats on the custom-built wall of bubbly, which doubled as the couple’s escort card display with adorable stir stick place cards.
The inspiration for the tablescape came from their ivory linen selection, which was light and fresh and allowed their color palette to pop with soft greens and blues. They incorporated a floral-patterned linen for the cake table and napkins to add a little something special.
On the main table, they set mismatched bud arrangements across the center of the table and placed simple small arrangements on the rounds in ceramic cube vases. Each place setting featured a textured-rim porcelain plate and elegant accompanying flatware.
“Catherine also fell in love with the gold and white dipped flatware,” said the photographer, “which was the perfect finishing touch.”
Their menu was stacked from top to bottom, which didn't stop at amazing wedding cake selections. They served a traditional, two-tiered cake with textured frosting and bands of willow, as well as a decadent waffle cake topped with floral and fruit garnishes, powdered sugar and whipped cream.
“When you have a brunch wedding there is a heavy emphasis on food,” said the photographer. “In a way it is the concept behind the whole day.”
As the afternoon came to an end, each guest was gifted a personalized tumbler as a takeaway. Catherine changed back into her flowy gown and popped a bottle of rose, as she jetted off with Jake for their grand exit.
“The happy couple boarded their boat for an epic exit and sped away!” said the photographer.
We wish Catherine and Jake a lifetime of happiness!
