Spring Dreaming

Jan 11, 2018

Classic southern styled shoot with teal, peach and cream tones fused with elegant decor at the Piedmont Room at Park Tavern in Atlanta, Georgia

At a breathtaking space fusing rich history, modern furnishings and picturesque skyline views, this styled shoot vision brought our spring/summer wedding dreams to life. Featuring teal blues, warm peaches and creams, the color palette paired with gold accents in the decor gave us all the “classic southern meets modern glam” vibes.

“We worked closely with our planner to put together an elegant and classic southern styled shoot that would fit almost any season,” said the photographer. “We wanted to highlight that teal color throughout our design for a fresh pop of color.”

This styled shoot was all about merging classic style with modern elements. Starting with the invitation suite, every detail throughout this shoot exuded class and elegance. Each piece was printed on creamy cardstock with a simple gold foil border and accompanying navy envelopes.

For the bride’s look, the team wanted to put together something glam, yet had a vintage feel. She looked radiant in a cap sleeve, champagne gown with an illusion neckline. The dress featured tulle and lace detailing, as well as floral accents and beaded applique.

“It sparkled and it was slinky and sexy with an open back,” said the photographer. “We loved that it made a statement any which way we looked at it and loved how it moved.”

Her dark hair was swept back into a high bun with a pearl and crystal encrusted hairpiece, and she wore a bold apricot lip for a romantic touch. The groom wore a classic, black three-piece suit with a classic black bowtie and white rose on his lapel, which complemented the bride’s glamorous look effortlessly.

The florals in her bridal bouquet as well as the tablescape design were a soft selection of romantic spring blooms. Roses in peach tones beautifully contrasted the shades of teal and blue thistle, while white ranunculus filled the arrangements and tied the rest of the hues together. Lastly, lush greenery and leucadendron was sprinkled throughout.

“The leucodendron was all I needed to bring in the warm tones of the wood elements intertwined throughout the shoot,” said the photographer.

The space boasted floor to ceiling windows with billowing chiffon drapery, and classic dark wood plank flooring. For the focal point of the couple’s ceremony, the team built a stunning custom arch with wooden beams and floral installations.

“We personalized the shoot with a custom-built arch featuring framed panels of color and texture and added florals to brighten it up and add romance,” said the photographer. “It was one of our favorite elements to the shoot.”

For the intimate dinner party portion of the shoot, the dining table was set with gold chiavari chairs and a teal blue crushed velvet tablecloth. On top, there was an ivory tulle fabric runner, white taper candles in antique wooden holders, and multiple centerpiece flower arrangements. Each place setting showcased gold flatware and classic glassware, an elegant gold-rimmed glass charger, a teal and gold porcelain dinner plate and a blue and white chinoiserie patterned linen napkin.

“We wanted it to feel different and fun,” said the photographer, “a touch of that southern elegance and nothing brought that more than the gold accents and the blue chinoiserie pattern on the napkins and custom arch.”

A true work of art, the three-tiered cake was immaculate in design. The top two tiers displayed peach and cream striped detailing, while the bottom tier showcased a navy and white marble design with gold foil accents. There was a bed of greenery at the base, and a cluster of fresh blooms on the side.

After dessert, the couple posed for their last few shots as they waltzed around the room in each other’s arms. It was playful and charming, and the most beautiful way to end this styled shoot full of grace, elegance and glam.

“We love how excited our models got to have fun together when we asked them to slow dance,” said the photographer. “They took to the first dance with twirls and dips and big laughs.”

Here’s to the spring season!
