Classic and Romantic Wedding Inspiration for the Vintage Bride

When deciding what style to choose for wedding day, the options are truly endless. You can go more trendy with boho, or opt for something more rustic. Looking for something timeless? Here is some inspiration to help you achieve a classic vintage style wedding.

Venue

When choosing a venue for a vintage-inspired wedding, there’s not much that wouldn’t work. Indoors or outdoors, or a mix of the two, whatever the preference may be. The more traditional spaces, such as hotels or country club ballrooms, would be ideal for that classic look. While an stately manor or historic home would lend itself to a more romantic-inspired vintage look. A place with large chandeliers would be perfect, but any space can be transformed with the right flowers, décor and furniture.

Flowers

Keep flower choices simple, classic and romantic. Think lots of roses and peonies. Baby’s breath is also the perfect vintage filler flower. Add it to bouquets and use it as accents all around – ceremony aisle markers, entrance tables and cocktail tables.

Try a cascading bouquet to make a statement or keep it traditional in a tightly wrapped bouquet. Add some unique elements like pearl accents or brooch pins to really drive the vintage look. Really looking to make a statement? Go with a bouquet completely made of vintage brooches, pearls and fabric flowers.

Use vessels like antique urns, pitchers and bud vases to hold flowers rather than the traditional vase. Also, add extras like feathers, crystals and pearls to centerpieces for that perfect vintage flair.

Décor

Choose a color palette of pastels and neutrals. Use pieces like vintage lanterns, birdcages and tea cups in centerpieces and accent décor like a card box, place card holders, flower vessels or candle holders.

Things like vintage china plates and crystal glasses pull that vintage style together. Play up the candlelight to create a romantic atmosphere. We love candelabras and taper candles to really make a statement.

Anything with lace will also help with the look. Think table runners, tablecloths and printed goods like table numbers. If you are using picture frames, make sure to get vintage ones!

Furniture and Extras

Anything from couches to buffets to bar carts can be the perfect place to add an extra element of vintage design. Consider a soft seating spot with vintage couches, chairs and settees for the perfect sport for guests to relax in. Or use things like a vintage buffet dresser or side table as your bar cart or cake table.

For the perfect ending, go out in (vintage) style with classic getaway car at the end of the night!

Fashion and Beauty

Think simple lines and classic style for a vintage bridal look. That means definitely something with lace! A dress with sleeves screams vintage but make sure it’s a dress you love. Even if you don’t fall in love with a vintage gown, top it off with a wedding day parasol, birdcage veil or vintage hair piece to tie everything together.

Want to go with a glamorous vintage look? Something with embellishments like beading or feathers would be perfect. Add a bold red lip for a perfect finish!
