Frances + Bart | Apr 21, 2018
Frances and Bart met six years ago when they met through a mutual friend at a weekly barbeque gathering. Bart’s barbeque company would cater a BBQ buffet in Chapel Hill every Sunday afternoon and he and Frances met when a friend convinced her to go try it out. After talking for a while, Bart asked Frances out on a dinner date and it ended up being the start of their amazing relationship! Recently, Frances bought a new house in Durham and Bart did a ton of work on it so Frances could move in within a few months. On the day that the movers were handling all the larger items, Bart told Frances that he wouldn’t be able to make it over until later in the afternoon and would then come help with whatever he could. When Bart arrived at the new house, he came with a bouquet of roses and a bottle of champagne in hand. Frances thought he was bringing gifts to celebrate her moving into her first house, but Bart had other ideas. Right then and there, Bart got down on one knee and proposed to Frances on the front porch! It was the best way start to two new chapters and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
Although Frances and Bart will be married in Frances’ hometown of Mobile, Alabama, they wanted to celebrate their engagement with photos in their current home of North Carolina. They had originally planned for their entire shoot to take place at Ayr Mount, a historic home in Hillsborough, NC; however, Radhika from Radian Photography suggested that their first house together be considered as a back-up site and Frances loved the idea so much that they ended up using it as a second location for their session! Since it’s their first home together, it was really special to include it in their photos and Frances and Bart had the sweetest picnic on the front lawn, complete with strawberries and champagne! Afterwards, they headed to Ayr Mount for the second half of their session where Frances and Bart explored the beautiful grounds and took the most loving pictures as the sun set. From a carved heart in a tree to a beautiful blue bouquet, the setting was perfect and the entire session made the soon-to-be newlyweds even more excited for their upcoming big day!
Congratulations and best wishes to Frances and Bart!
