Julie Greene + Ryan Perry | Mar 17, 2018
Growing up five minutes apart in High Point and attending neighboring schools (and even the same pre-school unknowingly!), it seems impossible that Julie and Ryan’s paths never crossed. But the two didn’t officially meet until Ryan started coming over to Julie’s house since he was old friends with her roommate. Sparks didn’t fly immediately – Julie wasn’t thrilled that Ryan wouldn’t let her play on his co-ed soccer team due to there already being too many girls – but the more she got to know him, the more his status changed to “not that bad.” On St. Patrick’s Day, Ryan was supposed to get a beer with Julie’s roommate but he ended up flying solo and convinced Julie to join him. It was the first time they had ever hung out just the two of them and, although it wasn’t an official first date, St. Patrick’s Day is still a special memory they share.
When it was time to make things even more official, Ryan planned a special trip for Julie’s birthday to the Smokey Mountains where he had arranged for them to go on a synchronized firefly tour (which also happened to have professional photographers documenting the evening). Ryan asked the photographers to take a photo of them and there, surrounded by flickering fireflies, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!
It was no surprise when the sweet couple picked St. Patrick’s Day to tie the knot at Adaumont Farm, a country-chic horse farm turned event venue near High Point. Their elegant yet whimsical day, captured by Yasmin Leonard Photography, was full of personal touches and truly represented both of their personalities. They selected a coral color scheme, perfect for an early spring wedding, and incorporated touches of St. Patty’s Day falir. Their lakeside ceremony was perfect and one of the best memories of Julie and Ryan’s day was when they locked eyes as she came down the aisle. They didn’t do a first look so it was such a special moment seeing each other for the first time right before they were to become husband and wife!
Their reception was full of chandeliers, greenery and bright coral tulips and roses. Navy and gold accents added to the coral color scheme while the elegant barn was the perfect mix of rustic and chic. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner before it was time to hit the dance floor and dance the night away! They even got to see Julie “ice” Ryan (she hid a Smirnoff Ice in her garter), an inside joke between friends that was a hilarious addition to the night. A photobooth added to the fun and guests had the best time taking pictures with the fun props and posing for the camera. It was truly a perfect wedding and Julie and Ryan loved every bit of their day before heading off under a sparkler exit as husband and wife!
Congratulations, Julie and Ryan!
