The inspiration behind this fabulous styled shoot was the Pantone color of the year, Ultra Violet. The team loved playing with the contrast of the Art Deco architecture of the Cannon Room in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina with elements of bringing the outside inside. And the theme of “opposites attract” was born.
The modern clean lines of the city paired with the ethereal elements of sweeping florals to create a look that was edgy yet still feminine all captured by Story & Rhythm. Greenery and blues enhanced the violet hue – from colorful florals to royal blue couches to large potted plants. The table setting was kept simple; ivory dishes, violet linen napkin and gold-rimmed chargers. In keeping with the purple theme, lavender lemonade was served, and the caterer creatively included purple potatoes in the delicious main course! It was important to the couple that nothing be dyed purple, so the team was super creative in making sure that all the dyes for the food and drinks came straight from nature. Touches of sparkle were also incorporated throughout the shoot; the groom sported a navy tie with flecks of silver glitter, the bride rocked several druzy stone jewelry pieces, and the heels of her purple shoes had the same iridescent quality as the groom’s tie. In keeping with the Art Deco architecture of the space, the bride also wore an ultra violet cocktail ring and even incorporated touches of purple into her makeup to tie her whole look together.
This shoot was a fantastic collaboration showcasing a fun twist on the modern wedding.
