A collaboration by talented wedding vendors on a hyperlocal level speaks to us in so many ways (if you don’t know about the Bustld local mission, click here to read all about it).
Kat from Benjamin T Warner DJ & Musician was the creative force behind the design. “This shoot was crafted for couples who are hoping to bring bohemian elegance to their intimate wedding,” said Kat. And that’s exactly what they showcased – from bohemian details including custom macramé designs to vintage rentals.
The shoot took place at The Ridgeview Venue, Asheville’s newest special events center, and was full of lace, cascading florals, macramé details, all of which came together in a natural setting. The breathtaking landscape of the five-acre property was perfect for the feel of the shoot, being intimate and rustic while also being organically romantic. The venue offers multiple stunning locations for wedding day moments and this shoot totally capitalized on the options.
The real-life couple acting as the models shared a sweet moment on the dock overlooking a picture-perfect lake, the perfect potential setting for a first look! The two sat in vintage green chairs while being serenaded by the guitar and banjo tunes of Benjamin T Warner, a fantastic local DJ who specializes in numerous musical offerings for wedding days!
The bride’s gorgeous lace gown was simply stunning and perfectly combined elegance with bohemian romance. Its plunging neckline was made more modest with the addition of an illusion overlay and dainty lace accents and beading detail highlighted every inch of the fitted bodice and flowing skirt. A lace-lined veil and pearl headpiece completed the look and paired perfectly with the baby’s breath in the bride’s curled, half-up hairstyle that also featured a fishtail braid accent. Her whole look was the perfect embodiment of the graceful bohemian theme and was perfectly accented by a cascading bouquet full of vibrant purple florals and a macramé wrap.
A custom one-of-a-kind ring was crafted from recycled gold and conflict-free stones. The designer had recently created two intersecting rings and knew they would be perfect for this shoot.
“These two rings are beautiful in their own right but are made complete when one is placed with the other,” said Kat. “Which is a beautiful symbol of the marriage that it represents.”
The ceremony location took place on a sprawling lawn and featured an ivory crochet aisle runner and a custom macramé backdrop accented with purple flowers. The reception highlighted another gorgeous location on the property and took place in an open-air space highlighted with romantic string lighting and rustic accents. The metal roof and massive stone fireplace set the mood and the surrounding mountain landscape only added to the beautiful feel of the evening. Natural greenery décor added to the simple beauty of the venue and perfectly tied the graceful bohemian theme together.
The model couple had so much fun re-living their wedding day and spent the night in each other’s arms as the DJ spun tunes into the evening.
“My favorite part of the shoot was the amazing camaraderie and dedication from each and every friendor,” said Kat, “Every friendor from this shoot is based in North Carolina, with many local to Asheville. The community bond was so beautiful and what made this shoot so special.”
