Bright, colorful and festive wedding inspiration with vintage, boho and whimsical style at Hobnob Occasions near Raleigh, North Carolina
Nothing is more fun and festive than the bright colors that accompany spring time in the Carolinas. This styled shoot took that bright color palette and paired it with a natural, open air backdrop to create this whimsical, warm and slightly windy wedding inspiration.
Everything was set outside for the shoot, including the bride’s getting ready area. A white vintage vanity was set with a bright turquoise printed chair where the bride sat as her hair and makeup were done.
To stay on theme, she had very natural makeup and her hair was loosely pulled back into a twisted braid like style. A white floral and greenery flower crown completed her boho look.
The dress only added to the bohemian and whimsical feel of the day. The all lace sheath gown hugged her in all the right places and swept the floor just right. The high neck added that vintage touch.
After the bride was dressed, she met her grey suited groom underneath the magnolia and drapery wrapped wooden arbor. The arbor was set in front of the deep forest for an enchanted feel. The entrance to the ceremony was set with a white wooden door next to an assortment of wooden boxes sprinkled with lanterns, terrariums and small, colorful flower arrangements on each side.
The couple walked hand in hand away from the ceremony and straight into the colorful reception set up. The main area was set underneath a partially draped tent frame. All along the frame were colorful ribbons tied to the poles that blew in the wind.
“Who needs a full tent when natural beauty is all around?” said the shoot’s planner. “The tent framework with billowy, white fabric and ribbons of every color provided just the right amount of shade and covering – it was fun, flirty and festive.”
Beneath the tent was a long family style farm table set with mismatched wooden chairs. Down the center of the table was an assortment of greenery, gold geometric candle holders and terrariums, and small bud vases filled with bright yellow, orange and red spring florals.
Just across from the eclectic table was one of many soft seating set ups. A red carpet popped against the green grass. On top of the carpet were two floral printed chairs and a side table holding a small floral arrangement. The area added so much color and fun to the space.
In a separate area there was a sweetheart table set up for the couple. It was a small farm table set in front of a wooden backdrop with a hanging colorful favor display. On the sweetheart table was a similar greenery, bright floral and gold geometric container set up found on the reception table.
The sweetheart table was set underneath a Sperry style tent that had more colorful ribbons hanging off Japanese lanterns in the center of the tent. Underneath that tent was another one of the eclectic soft seating set ups.
On top of a neutral colored rug were two vintage white daybed benches and an ivory vintage armchair gathered around a farm style coffee table. The area popped with a few colorful and floral throw pillows and some bright flower arrangement.
Across from the sitting area was the dessert set up. There was a vintage white buffet holding a three tiered colorful cake. Each tier had a paint stroke design trailing upwards in oranges, yellows and teals. The cake was topped with a cluster of bright red, yellow and green flowers.
In addition to the cake, there was also a snow cone machine set up, because what’s more festive than that?! And they weren’t just any regular flavored snow cones, they were sangria flavored!
The last spot the couple cozied up to was on a wooden pergola lined with market lights. On top of a vintage style rug was a sweet ivory loveseat for the couple to bask in the joy of their wedding day.
