Whimsical styled shoot with a bold color palette, gold accents and balloon decor at the Music City Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee
On a spring day in the heart of Music City, an essential party element created the most elegant and whimsical decor moment for this styled shoot. Paired with a bold color palette and gold accents, these large party balloons created a glamorous setting for this unique shoot.
“Who doesn't love balloons?” said the photographer. “It's the first thing we think of when we think of a lighthearted, fun party; so why not make them a main feature of your wedding day?!”
The invitation suite was a vibrant combination of bold colors and splatter paint patterns. Each stationery piece showcased pops of burnt orange, blush, cream and merlot in the background, with simple yet sophisticated block lettering.
For her bridal look, the model wore a stunning champagne, backless gown with a full tulle skirt and a gorgeous beaded bodice featuring quarter length sleeves and a boat neckline. Her hair was fishtail braided into a messy bun updo, and she wore natural makeup and minimal jewelry.
“In keeping with the underlying theme of contrasting colors and textures,” said the photographer, “the elegant wedding gown features an elegant rhinestone jeweled top paired with an impossibly soft skirt that flows like a wispy cloud on a breezy day.”
The groom looked dapper in a navy three-piece suit with a blush garden rose on his lapel, which perfectly complemented the cascading bridal bouquet of twine, myrtle, blush garden roses, cream roses, carnations in deep merlot and spring anemones. Her bouquet was the floral focal point, while the rest of the installations were minimal and intertwined with balloons.
“Rather than having florals be the main feature as it is with most weddings, we opted to make them a delicate accent to the smoothness of the balloons,” said the photographer. “An added pop of color and texture to lead the eye throughout the overall design.”
At the ceremony site, they created an arbor with a giant white balloon arch, combined with spring blooms and lush greenery. There were rows of gold chiavari chairs, an ivory drapery in the backdrop and string lights hanging over the entire space.
Beginning with a statement gold “LOVE” balloon placed over the bar, the decor was playful and vibrant throughout the space. The letters hung from a cluster of lavender, cream and metallic balloons, with a burgundy drapery in the backdrop. The menu was embossed with calligraphy on an acrylic slab, and the cocktails popped in hues of rose and lavender, with bright fruit garnishes.
“This unique, stunning design concept is full of creative inspiration for an unforgettable wedding day,” said the photographer. “Elegant balloon designs can set your wedding day apart while adding touches of fun to the wedding ambiance.”
On the reception table, there were classic touches of metallic and stone, including marble plates, gold-rimmed chargers and gold geometric table top decor elements. They added candle votives and deep merlot napkin linens, as well as a runner made from balloons in varying colors and sizes. Tying together the stunning design concept together, there were florals mixed in with the runner and personalized marble seating cards.
“One of our planner’s favorite things to do with wedding decor is to create contrasts with both color and texture,” said the photographer. “She incorporated a sleek and modern style softened by the organic flow of the florals and balloons.”
A similar dinner table was set for the bride and groom, with an ivory leather loveseat and a balloon cluster installed behind them. The tablecloth was a silky, floral patterned cover in moody hues that popped against the white chiffon backdrop.
For the wedding cake, the designer created a three-tiered masterpiece with intricate, edible gold leaf detailing to mirror the glittering metallic backdrop. The gold elements contrasted the dramatic purple watercolor icing, making the sparkly geode cake toppers a showstopping finishing touch. At the base, there were mini macarons in shades of bubblegum pink and violet.
“A geo-cake adds a touch of modern flair to any design concept,” said the photographer, “while gorgeous draping, floral design, geometric elements, and beautiful paper products result in a wedding reception that your guests could never forget!”
The styled wedding truly was unforgettable and after dessert, the groom twirled his bride around a few more times just before capturing the last few shots. They posed holding their giant three-foot balloons, accented with gold calligraphy reading “Mr.” and “Mrs.”.
“We know that brides-to-be will be inspired by this creative, balloon wedding design,” said the photographer. “They’re just so happy and never fail to make you smile, so why not smile a little brighter? It's your best day ever, after all!”
Cheers to all the brides-to-be planning their dream weddings!
